Trans Siberian Orchestra melted my brain.
Last night was Date night for the missus and I. Jerry and Jess accepted our babysitting request, and even brought over supper. Who knew that Chicken Parmesan would be such an excellent Pre-Concert meal? I will have to remember that when I am a Rockstar. After supper we gave the chubby baby a bath(Miller, not Jerry) put his pj's on and deposited him in Jess's lap. I don't think had too tough of a time, as they still looked sane when we got back from the show.(I don't think they even had to change a diaper).
Since I am a partial cripple we actually paid for parking at the show. 20 dollars is a fucking ripoff, but what can you do. We had excellent seats for the show and they were pretty easy for me to get there. Erin was beer delivery lady during the show, but I couldn't have too much because I couldn't go to the bathroom very easily. The show was excellent. The first half was a little too Chrimmus Pageanty, and had a few too many slow songs, but the the last half more than made up for it. I have never seen a better laser/light show. I was pretty unbelievable. People who easily get seizures should definitely not attend. The concert was almost a full 3 hours, and when it was over I was glad, because I was feeling quite overstimulated. We got to take a secret elevator out, and I think we were home by 10:30ish. I had to stay up for a bit though to make sure the flashing spots left my eyeballs. I recommend the show to anybody and will probably go back next year. It would be nice if they came a little closer to Chrimmus though.
That is all. Good day.

Not much new
I have come to terms with my temporary disability, and my crabbiness has slowly worn off. Another 2 weeks of crutches, and 2 more months of therapy and I will be as good as new. As long as my other leg doesn't go to shit I will be walking well into my 120's. Work has also let up a little bit, so I am not so stressed about that, and Miller has continued to be good, so that makes life much easier. The getting up at 4:45 every morning to do the leg machine before work is the only real downer, but I am finally getting used to that so I can sleep during it. Showering and taking a leak on one leg is still tricky, but I haven't takin a tumble yet.
The wife has got a work event tonight, so it's just Miller and I tonight. Who knows what kind of wild shenanigans we will pull off. A baby and a one legged man can surely get into plenty of trouble without Mom/wife around to make us behave.
That is all. Good day.

Quick One about the Election
1. Yes, I voted. No, its none of your damn business who I voted for.
2. I don't give two shits who you voted for. I will not feel depressed with you if your candidate lost, I will not be gleeful with you if your candidate won. Its over with, move on.
3. Take the stupid-ass bumper stickers off your car. The election is over idiot.
4. Too all you dumb shit actors that were going to move to Canada if a Republican got voted into office, please send Canada an apology that you won't be moving. I am sure that plot of wilderness that they were going to dump your asses on will miss you. Especially you, Susan Sarandon.
5. Too all you whiny Republicans that can't handle change: Get over it. The world isn't going to end. It may be better, it may be worse, but I am pretty sure it isn't going to end.
6. I am worried about all the musicians. Now that they have nothing to bitch about, how will they ever be able to write songs?
That is all. Good day.
On a side note, Thank-you Connie for bring over that delicious roast. I still have one more meal that I can get out of it and I will be eating that tonight. It was very good and we definitely appreciated it.

Stupid Move
Right now I am chocking this knee surgery up as one of the fucking dumbest things I have done. It hasn't even been a week yet and I am ready to jump off a bridge.(However, with only one good leg, that makes it obscenely trickier). It wouldn't be so bad if it had been like the doc said and only a week on crutches. But 5 weeks? Bullshit is what it is. It wouldn't be bad if my incapacitated state was only affecting me, but instead it affects Erin, Miller, and Everyone at work(as well as a few who get more than their fare share carting me around like Miss Daisy). I should have either done it before Miller was born, or after he was 10. I think the worst part is is that there is nothing I can do to speed things up. I just have to wait. I think once I come to terms with being a temporary cripple for 5 weeks things will improve, but right now I am pretty much just being a big baby and pouting all the time. It is a good thing my wife has all the patience in the world when it comes to me, otherwise she might be helping me up on the bridge guardrail.
That is all. Shitty Day.
That is all. Shitty Day.

Must be improving
Tonight, we decided to order Pizza, so I decided to get right up off my ass and order it...w/o my crutches. The collectives gasps of my mother and my wife just about sucked the air out of the room, causing me to be a touch lightheaded, so I just sat back down. I guess that is a good sign. Although, at this point if I had to do it over again, I wouldn't. IT is a huge pain in the ass. well, that is all for now. We got to see Lil baby Riley today, and Mr. Miller has been wild ever since.
That is all. Good day.

SonuvaB()%#h
Had the dr's appoitment this morning, and basically my knee was fucked. It must have been from all those years as a professional cage fighter in Thailand. He sent me home pictures of what it looked like before, and what he had to do to it and it wasn't pretty. If that's all there was too it, no big deal, but he claims he wants no weight bearing on it for 6 weeks! That my friends, is bullshit. It better not take that long. It is bad enough being a burden at home trying to take care of the house and Miller, but 6 weeks is a long time at work. The only positive is the drugs that they gave me. My ma was saying that Vicodin gets 50 bucks a pop on the streets of B-town. I have got 40 of those fuckers, if they weren't so delicious, I might be tempted to offload some. But I am keeping them for me, myself and I.
That is all. Good Day.

Still Alive
Leg doesn't hurt too bad, I have another appt tomorrow at 8 where I can actually talk to the Doc. He told Erin it was much worse than expected and I may be on crutches for a month. That will be a pain. He is the team Surgeon for the Florida Panthers so unfortunately he probably knows what he is talking about. Miller better learn how to walk and drive quick, otherwise it is going to be a long month. Erin is doing a good job taking care of me, and Grampa and Gramma are doing a good job taking care of Miller. They originally said they were coming down to help me out, but I think that was code for 'spend all our time with Miller'. Very interesting.
That is all. Good Day.
That is all. Good Day.
Under the Knife
In about an hour I will be going under the knife to get my knee fixed. If I wake up everything should be good as new after about a month of rehab. I have been asked if I am nervous and I am really not. I am more nervous to get my tooth ground down for a crown than I am to get knocked out for surgery. In my old age I have really had enough of dentists. I would rather I have both knees surgeried on that have to go to the damned dentist. Well, that is all for now. After I recover I may think about making some Prarie Chicken Chili for my peoples, but for now you will just have to wait.
That is all. Good day.

Vacations over, back to the real world.
Final Counts:
56 pheasants
14 ducks
6.5 1.75 jugs of Windsor
6 cases of beer.
I was a great trip. Just the right amount of time. Last year felt too short, this year was good. I was ready to go home, and felt like I got my fair share of hunting in. 1 or 2 more days would have been a little much. Since everyone that reads this blog was either there, or works with me, I will spare the details for a later date. It was a good trip, no one got hurt, there were no shenanigans, and everyone had a great time.
The real world. Uffffff. Yesterday I got home and promptly had one fat baby put in my lap. Miller turned from a baby to a beast baby. He got much bigger, much stronger, and has a few more hairs on his head. I hope he doesn't start disrespecting me for a few more years. That way I can hit the gym and hopefully he won't kick my ass too bad.
Erin did good with him. I didn't see any pinch marks on him, or any bite marks on her(although he doesn't have teeth so who knows). It was certainly nice being able to go on vacation knowing full well that she would have things under control.
Today, I got up with Miller, paid some bills, mowed the yard, went to Petsmart, Bestbuy, got groceries, and finished up my Prairie Laundry, and that was all before noon. Which unfortunately leads to one very overstimulated baby. He needs a nap but doesn't want to miss out on any excitement. After all, everyone knows that I am the life of the party.

Wingman Competition 2008
The good guys lost this year 27 pheasants to 28. A little upset but not too bad. 56 pheasants is a new record, and we will be eating good all winter. Shoulder and Liver and equally sore. We haven't done quite as well with the ducks, but we still have tonight and tomorrow to fix that. The weather has been awesome the last few days, Sunday and Monday were absolutely brutal. I will post about liquor and beer count later, but let me tell you that the numbers this year could be record breaking. I will return to Florida on Sunday, where my feet will be toasty for the first time in a week.
That is all. Good Day.

I'm Out
Headed up to Nodak for 8 days of avian slaughter. Not to mention not one iota of household responsibility. I wrapped up what I needed to at work, and will be hopping on a jet plane at 1:30. The wife is nervous of course, but I have the utmost confidence that she will do fine. Even if there are any hiccups, there are multiple friends within a 20 mile radius that will be more than willing to help.(although if she calls for help cleaning a shit-filled diaper, don't go). Miller will be fine, he was probably getting a little bored of me anyways, now he will get to spend a whole bunch of quality Mom time with you know who. Plus, he gets to see both sets of grandparents in the same month!
That is all. Good Day.

Busy Month
Woof this one is gonna be hectic for the following reasons:
HUUUGE project at work-5 models by the end of the month, wouldn't be a problem but for.....
Duck and Pheasant eradication in Nodak. Just doing my part to stop the spread of the Avian Flu. However, that means I am going to be gone from the 10th to the 20th. That is going to be a big chunk of work time missing, which would still make the project manageable except for......
Knee Surgery on the 23rd out until the 28th. That is 3 more days I won't be able to work on the project. Not only that but....
My folks and my brother are coming down on the 22nd to the 28th, which means I will probably be too busy to.....
Continue contructing and studying for my Helloween costume.
Christ, I need two of me. Not to mention, I have to get some recalls fixed on my truck, get the oil changed on my truck, fix the sprinklers at home, as well as continue to look fabulous.

List of things to do this week
1. Find my Fucking Car keys. Been missing since Saturday afternoon, and no I don't know where I put them, otherwise I wouldn't be looking for them.
2. Pack my stuff and ship it out for Duck and Pheasant killing. Most everything is still packed up, but I have some loose ends scattered about that I need to pack.
3. Schedule a massage with a Swedish Super Model to iron out my aches and pains from shooting clay pigeons on Sunday, and from throwing clay pigeons on Sunday. It's a bitch getting old.
4. Continue to be a Facebook whore. The whole idea seems to be a big popularity contest, but it is cool finding out where everybody is that I went to High School with.(at least the ones that know how to work the Internet). Maybe if I have a high enough friend count I can be on the yearbook committee...
Other than that, not much is new. Miller is slowly getting over his cold, and he should be good as new this weekend. I am starting to wonder if his teeth might be coming in soon. He gnaws on his thumb like it is fillet mignon, and he is starting to chew on some of his toys. I am sure teething will interrupt the heaven that is sleeping from 730-6 in the morning, but I knew it wouldn't last forever.
That is all. Good day.

Millers got a cold
Luckily I found this great advice on the interweb:
"He is too young for home remedies.
BUT, I believe that as his Mum you can put your hands on your kid and ask for healing for him.
Visualise white light filling his little body and clearing out the bugs. Ask his Angels to bring him healing. They will.
Spiritual healing is a powerful thing. It's magnified as a mother because you love your baby so much!"
Should be fixed in no time....
