I am a lot more Patchouli than I am Petrucci, but this was a pretty fun song to slog through. Just starting out it really stretches the hand muscles. It is amazing how much your hands adapt if you do repetitive exercises.
I was planning on practicing this until the end of October, but I have a Duck/pheasant hunting trip that I am going on starting Thursday on the frozen tundra of North Dakota. After 10 days of Drinking, Shooting, and all around lawlessness, my brain, ears and body are pretty much ruined. If I didn't get this in before I left it would be like starting over when I got back...
I originally planned on playing this through the 5150iii. I got home after work, got the cab all mic'ed up, got the interface ready to go, blah, blah, blah. Finally had a little time to record after supper. I couldn't play worth a damn. Take after take. Finally got one somewhat decent, but at this point I had 15 minutes of video and my poor computer couldn't comprehend the file. I got frustrated, so I quit.
2 beers later I decided to give it a go, but since everyone was in bed, I went with the Kemper and a Divided by 13 profile. The beers took just enough of the edge off to record something passable. No charge for the extra notes you get to hear, but no refunds for the ones I missed.....

I got this far, "It is amazing how much your hands adapt if you do repetitive exercises," couldn't stop laughing, and had to skip the rest of the explanation.
Excellent guitar playing, though! :)
I provide entertainment on many different levels!
Fancy!
