Still not a champion....

Thank God the corporate run is over. 30:20. I was hoping to get below 30, but that is what I get for not training(I am sure basketball has helped a tad, but not so much for distances), and also drinking 3 20 oz. beers before the race even started. Still not bad though, I had to stop once to tie my shoe but other than that it was running the whole time. There were 2 bridges in the course that were a pain in the ass, and the course as a whole was pretty boring. When running I like to not have to see where I am running to. This one just seemed to be two long stretches. It depresses me when I can see people running a mile ahead of me. I would much rather run a twisty course than a straight course. I am glad that I did it, I am glad that it is over, and I am glad the next one isn't for another year.

On a side note, right after the race started, and I was trying to cut my way through 5000 people to get some running room, I ran by a sidewalk restaraunt, and a young child asked me what we were running for. I told him the cops were chasing us...his eyes got big and he ran back to his mommy.

Holy Shit, you drank 60 oz of beer and then ran the 3 miles and still managed a decent time...
props to you!
I probably would have been puking after the 1st mile had I done that!

I can't believe you had 60 oz of beer and still pulled off 30:20! That's impressive Ryan.

And 5000 this year? Ick. Glad I didn't go.

Yeah, the fact that you and Jon drank beer before a 5K cracks me up... or impresses me... I'm not sure...

Drunk runs are more fun than sober runs. The bathroom issue is what would kill me.

OMG, how did you not have to pee like a race horse the entire way?

Damn! You drank beer and still got a better time than I did and I went to bed early, stretched and prayed to the running gods. Nice job!
