First day of the rest of my life

Not quite, but starting yesterday it was the first day of my next 5 years of working life. Miller time started Day Care yesterday, which is at Motorola, so I am in charge of dropping him off and picking him up. As well as making sure he has food, diapers and bottles there. So far it has been pretty easy. Erin gets things ready the night before, so all I have to do is pack things up and try not to forget the kid.

He does not like to wake up in the morning. If he had the cognitive capacity, combined with the physical prowess, I am sure he would be giving me the bird every second until he is fed. Even then I sometimes wonder what he is thinking. This morning he fell asleep to the new Slipknot CD on the way to work, and this evening he will enjoy the psychedelic sounds of Jimi Hendrix-Electric Ladyland. I figure I have a short time left before I will be listening to the Raffi, the Jonas Brothers, or whatever nonsense kids listen to these days...

That is all. Good day.

Probably the routine will be 5+ years since if you have another kid, it will also go to daycare. But by then, you'll hauling them in a minivan, which has a prime stereo system for Raffi.

Kuddos to Erin for the father drop off and pick up arrangment. Your work life will change when you're on baby schedule. Raffi is a ways off... I listened to Top 30 Toddler Play Along Songs for my 20-min ride to daycare this morning. You too will be searching for ways to amuse and distract the beast that roars in your backseat a few mornings each week.

Jonas Brothers..ha! By then, Britney Spears will have a new album, NSYNC will have reunited and I think there will be a Miley Cyrus concert he will want to attend with Daddy. Bet you can't wait, huh.

Wait till you have to add in the drop off and pick up from school - I'm just watching from the curb but I can tell that is mind-numbing car loop hell!

Nope, only semi-tasteful and enjoyable baby music, kid music, and teen music in our family. If Miller wants to see a concert, it will be something awesome that we want to see. Otherwise, he can stay home!
