Duck Hunting Stories at last

I finally have time to do a decent post on the wild activities of duck hunting, so here goes...

I traveled up to tropical North Dakota from Oct. 13-22 to go Duck Hunting with some friends from high school. I didn't really know what to expect, but the hunting surpassed my expectations. The weather did not. The very first day I was up there it was balmy 50 degrees, and from there it got worse, bottoming out at 22 degrees. Luckily the wife bought me some very warm clothes and I only really got chilly the last day. Due to the sloughs being froze over and the weather being miserable, there were not many Ducks flying the first 5 days we were there, but there were a buttload of pheasants. In the afternoons the 4 of us would split up into 2 vehicles and go opposite directions to scout for ducks/geese and to hunt pheasants. It was pretty damn fun. After the snowstorm on Tuesday, the weather finally cleared up, and the ducks started flying. 2 of the last 3 days we shot up a lot of ducks from 2 different locations, here is one of the two magical spots I cannot show you the other one as you might find it and ruin our fun next year.

All total we shot 29 ducks, 26 pheasants, and 6 1.75's of Windsor Canadian Whiskey.

It was a damn good time, and hopefully if things work out right, I will be going again next year. For those of you in the South Florida area I will be bringing back some delicious duck jerky and pheasant breasts when we come back home from chrimmus. I will share it with you then if you are lucky.

I love the sepia tone photo. Very nostalgic. Oh I can't wait to see Joncho.

Finally, some proof of carnage.
